Colossal Buddha, Bamian: 2,000 year old rock-cut Buddha figure carved into cliffside. Approximately 60 slides of the site with examples of frescoes, details of carving, and adjacent shrines cut into cliff. Site destroyed in March 2001 by Afghani government.


  


  

Vernacular Afghani Architecture, Bamian Valley:  
Approximately 40 slides of a wide variety of materials and types, including nomad tents, walled housing, mud-brick towers, shrines, and waystations.
