Use Guidelines for Researchers and Instructors

The Harold Stump World Architecture Slide Collection
(maintained by the
Architecture Visual Resources Library) consists of approximately 30,000 35mm color slides, photographed between 1960-1970, with emphasis on Africa, Eastern Europe, the Near and Middle East, and California. To preserve the collection, housed in two unique cabinets, all Stump slides are non-circulating. An alphabetically-arranged print-out by country and a drawer-by-drawer inventory provide access to the contents of Stump cabinets A (tall) and B (short), along with their respective drawer and unit numbers. The slides are available for research, publication, and teaching under the conditions outlined below, as determined by UC Berkeley's agreement with the Harold Stump Architectural Foundation.
Research & Publication:
Scholars and researchers who have selected slides for research or publication should complete a Harold Stump agreement form, and should plan on bearing all duplicating or printing costs involved in their request. A $20.00 per order handling fee will be assessed. Publication fees vary according to the intended use. Publication fees may be waived or reduced for non-profit scholarly publications of limited runs, courtesy of the Harold Stump Architectural Foundation. Teaching, UC Berkeley:
To preserve the identity of the Harold Stump Slide Collection, teaching use of the Stump Slide Collection will be limited to duplicate copies of Stump slides. Duplicate Stump slides will be made on as-needed-basis and become part of the Architecture

Teaching, Non- UC Berkeley:
Researchers and faculty requesting duplicates of Stump slides for teaching outside UC Berkeley should complete a Harold Stump agreement form, and should plan on bearing all duplicating or printing costs involved in their request. A $20.00 per order handling fee will also be assessed.
