Every historical period section contains a General Section. The General Section contains images that help describe the cultural period in which buildings were created. A third section, Miscellaneous, contains technical and social materials. Table 8 shows the arrangement of the photography study collection.

The entirety of AVRL’s Classification Manual has been mounted on the web in response to requests from other slide libraries.
