Notes on Kite Aerial Photography: Others
This is an informal gallery page posting -- proofs if you will -- of images from a KAP session. In this case the camera was a Canon S100 Digital Elph, a camera I use for prospecting. All total I have posted 50 shots pulled from around 120 total. The thumbnails link to images with a long dimension of 600 pixels, the source images are 1200 x 1600 pixels. The entry from my shooting log reads:
Jack London Square, Oakland, California, July 2002

| Date: | 7 July, 2002 |
| Location: | Waterfront peninsula, Emeryville, California |
| Subject: | Kayaks and urban fabric under a fitful wind |
| Camera: | Canon Digital Elph |
| Media: | digital at 1200 x 1600 |
| # of Images: | ~120 |
It was fun to revisit this urban spot which
has changed quite a bit since I photographed it in 1996. While the winds were barely
capable of lifting the lightweight Rokkaku, there was a surprising abundance of
thermals, and the area is full of obstacles -- all contributing to a high sweat
to image ratio. Session ended with a security guard informing me that kite
flying is not allowed in JLS (groan) and to apply to the business office during
business hours for permission before flying again. Pity that, it would be nice
to return for photographs using SLR and film.
Earlier images of Jack London Square can be found through the search link in the header.
