Notes on Kite Aerial Photography: Photo Gallery
A
view of Mt. Davidson taken from the height of the cross. The fog was just
beginning to form at this point, 30 minutes later and we were socked in. (Canon 24-mm, June
1999)
After fog closed in on the top of
Mt. Davidson, a fun thing to watch, we headed down the hill to a school on the
leeward side of the hill. This was a pleasant little neighborhood park where we
found a children's playground, tennis courts, and a baseball diamond. It offered
a dandy launching spot and soon the kite was aloft in surprisingly clean air.
A
view of the children's playground on the left and youngsters playing baseball on
the right. (Canon 24-mm, June 1999)
In
the lefthand image a young brother and sister climb to the top of a spiral slide
while two moms supervise (Canon 24-mm, June 1999).
As in most of San Francisco, the neighborhoods
around Mt. Davidson are densely populated. They have a good feeling to them
nevertheless. I plan to return for more photographs.
