Dynamic Effects

Watch the shadows dance for you!

To find a means of capturing the dynamic effect of daylight I decided to focus on my favorite part in the studio at 8th floor of Wurster Hall which is the concrete wall on the eastern side of the studio. Approximately between the two equinoxes (summer time) the sun sets north of true west striking on the  concrete columns (vertical fins) on the north side and finding its way through the space drawing light patterns on the eastern concrete wall. The series of photos were taken over a three hours period from 5.00 to 8.00pm on a clear sky day in mid May. The images were then complied into an animated GIF using the very simple  UnFREEz for convenient web display.
