For this exercise, I explored my studio design project's structural system and the spatial implications of such systems and materials. Given these systems, the question is how does light enter and affect the space and conversely how does the sky conditions and adjacent surfaces affect the light entering. Diffuse light from the sky vault and ground plane will vary with changes in orientation, cloud cover, time-of-day, horizon shading, and the color and specularity of the ground plane. Here is the tested model:
