As part of developing the skills to construct daylighting models, each student was given a limited time, both as a team and as individuals, to build a sketch model of Sam Davis' office in Wurster Hall. The individual model came at a later phase of the semester, provided that much of the model building techniques had been accumulated. The following images compare the group model (by a group of 4 students) vs. individual model, which illustrates both the challenges and improvements of individual model making.

There are definitely more details in the group
model, but the craftsmanship is more refined in the individual model.

Much more care was put into selecting the materials that have
comparable color and luminance factor as the real room in the individual model.
